Meme Memo Redux

Alas, I've been tagged* by a friend down in Oxford, Mary Warner from The Bedroom Reader.  First off, let me say that I publicly disagree with her comments about her native land having little to speak of other than "the fashions of the young dames parading around the Square, or what lawn mowers sound like early Saturday morning."  I mean, Oxford is the place that spawned William Faulkner, who most famously said "Facts and truth really don't have much to do with each other."  And I'm sure Mary has a fertile imagination, right?

Nonetheless, I am now obliged to provide you, gentle reader, with Seven Random Facts from my life:

1. Blogging is an act best performed by individuals who wake up very early in the morning.  With coffee.
2. I am passionate about local food.  So much so that my yard is beginning to look like a teeny tiny farm.
3. Next to my desk is a copy of The Greatest Hits of John Lee Hooker on vinyl.  I do not own a turntable of any kind.
4. I do own three lawn-mowers but can't seem to coax grass out of the cruel earth.
5. If you can get along with me you'll love my family.  I'm the least charming person in the group.
6. I too have done time as a book clerk.
7. My three-year-old son had a nightmare this evening about "something chasing him around and getting into his toys and I need to go look."  He's asleep now, but that's why I'm awake at 3:04am.
